VOL Ⅰ/Ⅲ : Eleven Occultism Practices

This three volume series will explore some practices, tools in the practice, and less used tools that aren’t as known. In this blog we are exploring eleven practices! To understand Occultism practices a little more we first need to explore the meaning, occultism refers to the study and pursuit of hidden knowledge, often aimed at achieving spiritual insight or personal power. Originating from the Latin word "occultus," meaning concealed, hidden, or "secret”, The concept has strong ties to esoteric, mystical, and supernatural practices. There are many forms of occult or esoteric practices such as palm reading/mediumship/tarot reading etc that use divination to gain hidden knowledge or insight. Occultists might develop ESP as part of their path, but occultism also involves non-perceptual practices like spellcasting or alchemy. The main reason I’m using the term occultism practices rather than Extrasensory Perception (ESP) is for the fact that occultism is a broad, umbrella term for hidden knowledge and supernatural practices (magic, alchemy, spirit communication, etc.). While Extrasensory Perception (ESP) refers specifically to psychic abilities like telepathy, clairvoyance, and precognition, which are components or manifestations often studied within or related to occult traditions, but can also be viewed scientifically through parapsychology. The big difference between the both is: Occultism is the field, ESP is a specific power within it. I want to do dive into an overview of the general field rather than just one area and the powers within it…

Semi-Permanent N’ Cosmetic Makeup 101

Permanent makeup, also known as cosmetic tattooing, has an extensive ancient origins that spans thousands of years. Ancient Egyptians are often credited as the pioneers of this art, using natural pigments to adorn their faces with eyeliner and lip color. Along with many ancient cultures, including the Polynesians, Incas, and Greeks, used pigments for body and facial tattoos to signify social status, lineage, or for cultural and spiritual reasons. This wasn’t just about beauty; it was a statement of power, spirituality, and social status. Forward to the early 20th century, and we see the first modern attempts at permanent makeup. Early methods involved using manual tools or coil machines to implant pigment into the skin. The techniques were crude and raw compared to today’s standards, often involving basic tattooing methods that lacked the precision we now take for granted or don’t even consider when getting art on our bodies…

INK.V3 THE RED! red hair dye Brand+ Color Deep Dive

“The red filters through…”,

I have always been attracted to the color red, to red in clothes, red in movie posters, to red jewelry. I even had a red room for some point with red curtains! I love to mainly customize my character head to toe in a mix between red and black. Ultimately my favorite way to add red is through my curly hair!

INK.V1 THELOOK. the history of chola makeup

The roots of Chola makeup is deeply intertwined with the cultural and social experiences of Mexican American women (like mua, afrolatinx, afrolatinas wya! ) in the southwestern United States, particularly in Southern California. It emerged as a form of self-expression and resistance against societal norms and expectations, evolving from the pachuca style of the 1940s into the Chola aesthetic of the 60s and beyond.
